David Fraker, Arborist
David Fraker is an arborist and outdoorsman and has studied ecosystems, wildlife and plants since pursuing his undergraduate training in biology from Hope College. He has taken a particular interest in promoting biodiversity and reducing harmful effects of climate change on plants and animals focusing heavily on invasive species, including invasive fungi that harm forests and their inhabitants leading to decreased biodiversity. He feels strongly that we should be focusing more efforts on early phase prevention and dedicates time to educating the public and fellow forestry professionals to help preserve the balance of nature. David works extensively in West Michigan shoreline communities helping prevent oak wilt disease and in other coastal communities throughout the U.S. David is an instructor for the International Society of Arboriculture’s Arborist Certification preparation course and is an active participant in the Citizens’ Climate Lobby in Grand Rapids, advocating on behalf of causes important to the Evenson Foundation.
