DEBORAH M. STEKETEE, PhD
Deborah M. Steketee, PhD, is Professor Emerita of Sustainable Business at Aquinas College (Grand Rapids), where she contributed to the development of a new generation of business leaders through the college’s Sustainable Business degree and as Executive Director of the college’s Center for Sustainability.
Deb has also engaged in programs and organizations which catalyze sustainability and environmental conservation throughout West Michigan and further afield, including the Land Conservancy of West Michigan, the West Michigan Environmental Action Council, the Wege Foundation, and the Grand Rapids Community Foundation.
Deb earned her PhD in Public Policy and Political Science from Indiana University-Bloomington, focusing on the social dimensions of natural resources management with dissertation research in Ecuador. She received a Master of Science degree in Resource Development from Michigan State University, with thesis research on ecotourism in Costa Rica. Her University of Michigan Bachelor of Arts in Journalism launched her first career in print and television media, and environmental communications.
